Twin-sized mattresses are a staple in many children’s rooms since they’re so compact. California twin-sized mattresses are both thinner and longer than Twin or Twin XL mattresses, and are perhaps most popularly used in doubles to form Split Cal Kings. Twin XL mattresses are an excellent option for stretching out and allowing a little more legroom for growing kids while still keeping the bed width relatively compact (perfect for siblings sharing rooms!). Split king mattresses are the perfect solution for couples who share a bed but have different ideas of comfort. As you might guess, a split king mattress is actually two separate Twin XL mattresses that are pushed together or attached to create one solid king-sized mattress. While comfy, a split king mattress can make it slightly harder to shop for bed sheets, especially if each side of the mattress can move and adjust. Like the split king, split cal king mattresses are also made up of two different mattresses. This time, though, you’ll need two Cal Twin mattresses and their respective sheets. Buy the perfect pair of sheets to fit your enormous split mattress here.
If you’re unsure of your bed size, take a tape measure and measure the length and width of the mattress from end to end to determine the best fit. You’ll also want to measure the mattress depth and account for any extra mattress toppers that could also add height.
